We have great news for fans of liveGfree, Aldi’s gluten-free and budget-friendly line. This August, the stuffed sandwiches (“hot pockets”) will officially be available in stores on a regular basis. Pepperoni Pizza and Southwest Veggie, the two sandwiches that were introduced in May, will be distributed by August 21st to all 1,300 Aldi stores under the liveGfree label. Along with the original varieties, Ham & Cheese and Spinach Artichoke sandwiches will also be available under the Gluten-Free Delights name in major supermarket chains nationwide by the end of 2014.
All four stuffed sandwich varieties are certified gluten-free by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization and are made with high-quality millet, rice flour, and fresh vegetables. The sandwiches are great for gluten-free eaters on the go and couldn’t be easier to prepare. They’re sold frozen in packs of two and microwave in just two minutes. Tasty, satisfying, and super convenient, Gluten-Free Delights are a great quick meal or snack for the whole family.
Gluten-Free Delights: Pepperoni Pizza
The Pepperoni Pizza stuffed sandwiches were a major hit with liveGfree fans, and we’re excited that they will be available at Aldi and as well as major supermarkets nationwide. These are packed with pepperoni and mozzarella and have that classic pizza taste with just a hint of a spicy kick. Like all Gluten-Free Delights, these sandwiches have a nice, thick crust made with millet, rice flour, corn starch, and just a touch of sweetness.
Look for these in a 2-pack for $2.69 at Aldi starting in August and in a 2-pack in the $2.79 to $2.99 range at major supermarkets by the end of 2014. The pepperoni stuffed sandwiches will also be available in a value pack (12 sandwiches) at all 216 Gordon Food Service Market Place stores for about $14.99 by mid-October.
Gluten-Free Delights: Southwest Veggie
The Southwest Veggie sandwiches will also be available under the Aldi liveGfree label as well as under the Gluten-Free Delights name at major supermarkets nationwide. True to their name, these fantastic veggie sandwiches are filled with brown rice, black beans, corn, and salsa. Thanks to an impressive range of peppers and chiles, including jalapeños, green chiles, and Anaheim chiles, these sandwiches have a welcome spicy kick. With fresh-tasting veggies and flavorful salsa, we love this as a veggie option. We’ll be stocking our freezer with these for quick meals. Look for these in a 2-pack for $2.69 at Aldi starting in August and in a 2-pack in the $2.79 to $2.99 range at major supermarkets by the end of 2014.
Gluten-Free Delights: Ham & Cheese
The Ham & Cheese stuffed sandwiches will be available under the Gluten-Free Delights name in major supermarkets, and we’re so glad to see them. Ham and cheese is the quintessential “hot pocket” flavor, and these definitely do it justice. Stuffed with sharp cheddar cheese and lots of ham, these are an instant hit. Look for these in a 2-pack in the $2.79 to $2.99 range at major supermarkets by the end of 2014.
Gluten-Free Delights: Spinach Artichoke
The Spinach Artichoke sandwiches will also be available at major supermarkets under the Gluten-Free Delights name, offering a second option for vegetarian consumers. Along with spinach and artichokes, these sandwiches also feature kale, making them the most veggie-packed variety. The monterey jack cheese boasts a delicious garlic and herb blend, which we loved. We can’t wait to snack on more of these! Look for these in a 2-pack in the $2.79 to $2.99 range at major supermarkets by the end of 2014.
